Chat 9: What I eat in a day as a VEGAN (belated Veganuary blog post)

Hello my beautiful friends!

Due to being vegan, I have decided to create a 'What I eat in a day' post in support of Veganuary, although this post very late. I hope that I can inspire some of you to try vegan meals through this post. I am definitely not the healthiest person and do not eat the most balanced diet, so please do not view this as an example of how to have a balanced vegan diet, but I wanted to keep this very realistic.

Before breakfast, I always drink a big glass of water. For breakfast, I had toast with dairy free spread and jam, a pear (I usually have a banana, but we had none left) and a green tea. I used Pure spread because it was on offer when I bought it, but I usually use Vitalite because this is my favourite.

For lunch I had a wholemeal bagel with more dairy free spread, Vivera veggie goujons (these are basically fish goujons without the fish) and some salad. Vivera is one of my favourite brands for vegan meat substitutes. It is definitely worthwhile looking at this brand if you are new to veganism or would like to begin substituting some meat. A lot of their meat substitutes are very realistic, for example the veggie steak.

My mum made a vegan noodle dish for dinner. The udon noodle dish contained edamame beans, spring onions, spinach, beansprouts, broccoli and Vivera chicken pieces with soy sauce and spices. Although it does not look amazing, it tasted beautiful!

Also, I do use a supplement to ensure that I am getting all of the necessary nutrients. The supplement I use is the Holland & Barrett Vegan Multivitamin. Be careful when choosing supplements because some supplements contain animal-derived ingredients, so ensure that the product has a vegan label or do contact the company to ask if you are unsure.

I hope that this blog post has been both insightful and useful. Are you going to try veganism? Let me know in the comments!
