Chat 7: What I Got for Christmas 2018

Image
Hello my beautiful friends! I feel I must begin this type of blog post with a quick disclaimer... I am not trying to boast or brag in any way through this post and I am super grateful for all of the presents that I received. I simply thought that this would be a fun post to create and a good post to look back on as a memory. In this post, I am going to list the things that I received from various people without going into too much detail. I was unsure how to present this post at first, but I think that this will work effectively. If you have ideas regarding how to present a similar post in future, please do comment your idea. Things I received from friends (each bullet point represents a different person)... A mug with "Friends make the world a better place" written on it (this made me emotional for various reasons), The Body Shop shower gel, body butter & loofah and chocolate Bath fizzers 2019 diary (this was from my Secret Santa at work) Things I recei...

Chat 6: My New Year's Resolutions 2019

Hello my beautiful friends! Today it is Christmas Eve and one week until New Year's Eve. During this period, a lot of people make New Year's resolutions, so I have decided to share my own resolutions for inspiration. Last year, I created a similar post; however, I feel I made too many resolutions that were not sustainable. This year I will have fewer resolutions with more meaning. I will also discuss how I am going to achieve my resolutions. Stop procrastinating. Despite being very academically-driven, I feel that I have not studied to my full potential over the past year. Therefore, throughout 2019 up to my A-Level exams, I am going to revise for at least 1 hour everyday. I also want to use my time more productively, for example I could go for a run or write a blog post instead of browsing through my phone. Even though this is not studying, it is still productive. Be happier. Over the past year, my mental health issues have had a huge impact on me. Without going into d...

Academia 30: My Christmas Holiday Revision Timetable

Image
Hello my beautiful friends! Today I have decided to share my revision timetable with all of you. I aim to briefly discuss how I create my revision timetable and provide you with ideas regarding how much revision I aim to do. Hopefully, this will motivate both myself and all of you to revise. Please note, I may not complete all of the revision that I aim to complete and everyone revises for different durations. You may prefer to revise less or more than me, which is perfectly okay because this may be more appropriate for you. I have only created my revision timetable for the first week of the Christmas holiday because I have not received my work rota for the second week. I begin creating my revision timetable by inputting any work shifts and when I plan to go on a run. This provides a greater insight into how much time I have to revise in reality aside from other commitments. Then, I input revision slots for my subjects. I begin with the subject I feel I need to revise the most...

Academia 29: How to Revise during the Christmas Holiday

Hello my beautiful friends! It's nearly the Christmas holiday and, whilst Christmas is a time to relax, I know a lot of students have January mocks. My January mocks commence on Monday 21st January, so I will definitely be revising during my holiday. Hopefully, I will be sharing my revision timetable with you next week, but this week I will share my top tips regarding how to revise. Write a list of everything you aim to complete over the Christmas break.  Whilst you probably will not complete this list, you will be much more productive knowing exactly what you need to do. Be specific by writing down the papers you want to complete, flashcards you want to review, etc. Plan your revision around your Christmas activities.  As I am creating my revision timetable, I am inputting any events before allocating time to my subjects. This enables me to view exactly how much time I have to revise and I can allocate hours to subjects accordingly. Use all of the time you do have....
