Chat 6: My New Year's Resolutions 2019
Hello my beautiful friends!
Today it is Christmas Eve and one week until New Year's Eve. During this period, a lot of people make New Year's resolutions, so I have decided to share my own resolutions for inspiration. Last year, I created a similar post; however, I feel I made too many resolutions that were not sustainable. This year I will have fewer resolutions with more meaning. I will also discuss how I am going to achieve my resolutions.
Stop procrastinating.
Despite being very academically-driven, I feel that I have not studied to my full potential over the past year. Therefore, throughout 2019 up to my A-Level exams, I am going to revise for at least 1 hour everyday. I also want to use my time more productively, for example I could go for a run or write a blog post instead of browsing through my phone. Even though this is not studying, it is still productive.
Be happier.
Over the past year, my mental health issues have had a huge impact on me. Without going into detail, I feel low most of the time and am quite lonely. How can I love others if I cannot love myself? My main aim this year is to focus on the positive things. To aid this, everyday throughout January I am going to write about one thing that brought happiness to my day, regardless of how small or silly it is.
Save more money.
I began implementing this in December by creating a Monzo account. My wages go into my Barclays current account, but I transfer part of my wages into my Monzo current account and only spend from my Monzo account. Consequently, I spend less because I am allowing myself access to a smaller pot of money. As an aside, I would completely recommend Monzo for students because it splits your spending into categories and allows you to set budgets for different categories, for example bills, groceries, etc.
Grow my blog.
This is more of an aim rather than a resolution. I began my blog in January and have watched my following grow from 0 to over 1000. Whilst this is a small achievement for some people, I feel so proud and thankful. This year there will be a lot of changes in my life: I will turn 18; sit my A-Level exams; go to university... I am so excited to take this blog and my followers on my journey!
Thank you for an amazing year! I am super excited to see where this blog takes us over this next year. I wish everyone a safe and restful Christmas! Please do share you own resolutions in the comments.
